7 Questions To Ask When Looking For A Buyers Advocate banner image

If you’re looking for property at this time, working with a buyers advocate can put you at an advantage. The right buyers advocate will give you access to properties that perfectly fit your needs and they will know how to negotiate the best deal. However, finding the right buyers advocate is challenging if you don’t know the right questions to ask.

Right now, while we’re forced online, there’s the risk of making a decision based on emails and competitive pricing. Don’t decide this way. You need to have a Zoom chat and work out if the buyers advocate is right for you.

I want to stress how important it is to work with a buyers advocate who has experience in the type of property you want to buy. The money is made in the buying, and it doesn’t matter whether you purchase on or off-market, only an experienced buyers advocate can skilfully negotiate a purchase to deliver the best value for you.

Here are the questions I’d recommend asking when looking for a buyers advocate:

  1. How long have they been working as an advocate?
  2. What % of properties are secured off market?
  3. What is their buying model?
  4. How do they determine value and buying strategy?
  5. What internal support systems and infrastructure do they have?
  6. What is their average buying time?
  7. Who is their target/ideal client?

Those seven questions can help you find the right buyers advocate and take advantage of the new opportunities in the property market that are appearing because of Coronavirus. If you’d like to read more about the opportunities that are presenting themselves, I recently published an article on Property TV about off-market property opportunities.

As always, our team at Infolio invite your questions and inquiries. If you’d like to explore any of the above topics further, or learn more about working with a buyers advocate then please get in touch.
